Getting Started

First Time Setup

  1. Download Habitatly from the App Store
  2. Open the app and explore the six main features
  3. Tap any feature card to start adding your data
  4. Use the + button to add new items
  5. Swipe left on items to delete them

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete items?

Swipe left on any item to reveal the delete option. You'll be asked to confirm before the item is permanently deleted.

Is my data backed up?

Habitatly stores all data locally on your device. Your data is included in your device's iCloud or iTunes backup. If you delete the app or reset your device without a backup, your data will be lost.

Can I sync between devices?

Currently, Habitatly does not support cloud sync. Each device maintains its own local data. This ensures maximum privacy and offline functionality.

How do I share my shopping list?

Open your shopping list, tap the menu button (•••), and select "Share List". You can then send it via Messages, Email, or any other sharing method.

How do I use the WiFi QR code?

Add your WiFi credentials in the WiFi Share feature. A QR code will be generated automatically. Guests can scan it with their camera app to connect instantly.

Can I customize categories?

Yes! When adding items to your shopping list or inventory, you can type any category name. The app will remember your custom categories.

How do I enable dark mode?

Tap the moon/sun icon in the top right of the home screen to toggle between light and dark modes.

Does Habitatly require internet?

No! Habitatly works completely offline. All features are available without an internet connection.

Is there a subscription?

No subscriptions! Habitatly is a one-time purchase. Buy it once and use it forever with all features included.

How do I reset a room checklist?

Open the checklist, tap the menu button (•••) in the top right, and select "Reset All Tasks".

Tips & Tricks

Shopping List

  • Items are automatically categorized based on common keywords
  • Sort by date, name, or category using the sort button
  • Hide completed items to focus on what you still need
  • Clear all completed items at once from the menu

Bill Reminders

  • Bills are automatically sorted with overdue items first
  • Tap a bill to mark it as paid
  • Set frequencies: monthly, quarterly, or yearly
  • See total amount due at a glance

Home Tasks

  • Set tasks to repeat daily, weekly, or monthly
  • Tap to mark complete—they'll move to the bottom
  • Track how many tasks you've completed today

Room Checklists

  • Use templates for quick setup (Kitchen, Bathroom, etc.)
  • Create custom checklists for any room
  • Track progress with visual percentage indicators
  • Add or remove tasks anytime

Home Inventory

  • Filter by category to find items quickly
  • Search by name or location
  • Add quantities and notes for detailed tracking
  • See total item count at a glance

Troubleshooting

App Not Opening

  1. Force quit the app and reopen it
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check for iOS updates
  4. Reinstall the app (note: this will delete your data)

Data Not Saving

  1. Ensure you have enough storage space on your device
  2. Check that you're tapping "Save" after editing
  3. Try force quitting and reopening the app

QR Code Not Scanning

  1. Ensure you've granted camera permission
  2. Check that the QR code is well-lit and in focus
  3. Try moving your device closer or farther away

System Requirements

  • iOS Version: iOS 13.0 or later

  • Storage: Approximately 50 MB
  • Internet: Not required (works offline)
