How Your Data is Stored

All data you enter into Habitatly is stored locally on your device using secure, encrypted storage:

  • Bill Reminders: Stored locally on your device
  • Home Tasks: Stored locally on your device
  • Room Checklists: Stored locally on your device
  • Home Inventory: Stored locally on your device
  • WiFi Information: Stored locally on your device

Permissions We Request

Habitatly requests minimal permissions, and only when necessary:

Camera Access (Optional)

Used only for scanning QR codes in the WiFi Share feature. You can decline this permission and still use all other features.

Local Network Access (Optional)

Used only to display your current WiFi network name. This information never leaves your device.

Notifications (Optional)

Used only for bill reminders if you choose to enable them. You have full control over notification settings.

Data Backup and Sync

Habitatly does not provide cloud backup or sync features. Your data is stored only on your device. If you delete the app or reset your device, your data will be lost unless you've backed up your device using iCloud or iTunes backup.

Data Sharing

The only way data leaves your device is when YOU explicitly choose to share it:

  • Shopping List Sharing: When you tap the share button, you control where to send it
  • WiFi QR Codes: Generated locally and displayed only on your screen

We never automatically share your data with anyone.

Children's Privacy

Habitatly is safe for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there are no special considerations for children's privacy. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.

Security

Your data security is important to us:

  • All data is stored using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
  • Data is protected by your device's passcode/biometric authentication
  • No data is transmitted over the internet
  • No servers to hack or breach

Third-Party Services
